My name is Boruch, and I am an alcoholic.

Twenty-two years ago, I walked into an AA meeting and spoke those words out loud for the first time. It was also the first time I had been honest with myself about what was going on in my life for many years. With God’s help, I have remained sober in AA since then.

I wrote the books contained on this site and recorded the podcast to help my brothers and sisters in the rooms achieve recovery using inspiration taken from the Bible. They are based on my understanding of Biblical texts as a Jew, but I believe that anyone who has a spiritual appreciation for the divinity of the Holy Scriptures can find them a valuable resource for recovery.

The spiritual principles I discuss should be relevant to anyone in recovery who is interested in spiritual growth and conscious contact with a Higher Power. However, the ideas I discuss should not be interpreted as the exclusive or authoritative Jewish view on the Bible as it relates to recovery. Such a work would be far beyond my level of knowledge.

There is no correct way to use these materials. I encourage you to, as they say in the rooms, “Take what you like and leave the rest.”

May God grant you the greatest of blessings and success on your personal journey to serenity and recovery from addiction.
